Foxtrot Vineyards

Address: 1201 Gawne Road, Naramata

We believe that a wine should be an expression of its place, of the particular soils and microclimate from which it comes, the vines and grapes that give it life, and the weather conditions that shape it, all animated by the sensibility of the individuals who make it. Great wine is not replicable from place to place nor the same from year to year. Foxtrot is fortunate to make its home on the Naramata Bench, whose unique terroir we seek to express in complex, elegant, and age-worthy Pinot Noirs.

Get to Know Us

While the roots of Foxtrot’s vineyards go back to 1993, it was the Allander family who decided, in 2004, to make their own wine from the property, which they named Foxtrot, and to build a winery there. Together, the family created superlative pinot noirs and chardonnays for over a decade. At the end of July 2018, an investor group led by Doug Barzelay and Nathan Todd purchased Foxtrot.

Black Widow Winery

Phone: (250) 276-5396
Email: info@blackwidowwinery.com
Address: 1630 Naramata Road, Naramata

We purchased our 7 acre Naramata Bench vineyard in 2000 and got to work right away planting more vines. Our wines are crafted exclusively from grapes grown on the Naramata Bench, and are predominantly single vineyard pressings.

Our Approach

Assisted by our 3 children, other family members, and friends, development of the property and business is an on-going project. We have a low intervention philosophy in wine making that focuses on the strength of the grapes that we use.

Get to Know Us

In 2006, we built Black Widow Winery and released our first single vineyard wines. Today our production averages 2,800 cases per year. The winery is built into a steep hillside, with 5 levels in total. This allows us to often use gravity for gentle movement of wine during production.

Bench 1775 Winery

Address: 1775 Naramata Road, Naramata

Our Okanagan winery is named after our address, 1775 Naramata Road, in Penticton, British Columbia. Located on the southern shore of Lake Okanagan along the Naramata Bench, Bench 1775 Winery offers breathtaking views and unique wines that celebrate both land and place.

Wines from Bench 1775 are produced with the unique expression of fruit grown in the Okanagan Valley. Our fruit is grown in multiple vineyards spanning up and down the Okanagan Valley as well as a small vineyard in the Similkameen Valley.

Our Approach

Bench 1775 is where wondrously talented individuals collaborate with the land, the climate and the sun to create Okanagan Valley’s most notable wines. The philosophy at Bench 1775 is to capture the full expression of the grapes grown in vibrantly healthy and balanced vineyards. We then manage the winemaking to allow for the natural expression of the grapes. We believe that great wines start in the vineyard, so all of our vineyard sites were analyzed in detail before being planted with clones and rootstocks best adapted to our soils and the climate of our sites.

Get to Know Us

In June 2011, Paradise Ranch Wines Corp purchased the beautiful vineyard at 1775 Naramata Road (Soaring Eagle Winery) in the celebrated geographical region of Naramata Bench and rebranded the winery as Bench 1775 Winery. Under its β€œBench 1775” β€œParadise Ranch” β€œWhistler” and β€œSoaring Eagle” brands, Bench 1775 currently produces an award-winning portfolio of icewines and table wines it sells domestically across Canada and exports to several markets, the most active being Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Europe.

We are a family owned and operated winery, situated on the iconic clay bluffs, above Okanagan Lake.

Our family has been farming the land around our winery for 100 years, spanning four generations! We have two vineyards at two sites on the Naramata Bench: our Hardman Vineyard, which is our home property on Aikins Loop and Rayner’s Vineyard, located north of Naramata village.

Our Hardman Vineyard is home to nine acres where we grow Muscat, Gamay, Merlot, and Malbec. The Rayner property has been farmed by our family for almost forty years and is home to eleven acres of vines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Malbec, and Syrah.

Both of these farms were planted with fruit orchards for much of the previous century, which has contributed to the unique and rich terroir of the area. All of our vineyard work is done by hand, as we are passionate about producing grapes that are the best expressions of each varietal.
