Slow moments, thoughtful stops, and all the ways to celebrate
Mother’s Day weekend is one of those times when Naramata really comes into its own.
The blossoms are out. Patios are filling. There’s a natural rhythm along the Bench - people moving from place to place, running into familiar faces, making a day of it without needing much of a plan.
This is what Naramata does best.
A weekend that starts simply and unfolds from there.
It might begin with something easy - a glass of rosé and a basket of fries, a seat in the sun, no reservations and nowhere else you need to be. Places like Just Baked Naramata have quietly become part of that rhythm - casual, welcoming, and exactly what the moment calls for.
From there, the day can take any shape you want it to.
Maybe it’s a slow morning - stretching into the day with a yoga class among the vines at Howling Bluff Estate Winery, or easing into a tasting flight that turns into a longer stay than expected.
Maybe it’s something a little more social - wandering into the lawn at Origin Wines, where the atmosphere feels more like a gathering than an event. A glass in hand, something local to browse, kids playing nearby, and time moving at its own pace.
That’s the beauty of it here - you don’t need to choose just one way to celebrate.
Sunday brings its own kind of energy.
Flowers and wine come together at JoieFarm Winery, where you can build a bouquet to take home alongside a tasting of spring releases. Across the Bench, patios are alive in that easy, familiar way - music drifting through the air at Ruby Blues Winery, glasses clinking at Three Sisters Winery, and relaxed afternoons settling in at Four Shadows Vineyard & Winery.
Elsewhere, it’s a little more lively - food trucks, artisan pop-ups, and something cold in hand at Abandoned Rail Brewing Company - the kind of stop that adds a bit of energy to the day.
And if you’re not quite ready for it to end, the evening has its own rhythm too.
Live music, familiar spaces, and that golden hour feeling settling over the valley - maybe with a stop at Cannery Brewing to close things out.
But in between all of it - the tastings, the tables, the stops you planned and the ones you didn’t - are the quieter moments that tend to stay with you the longest.
A walk along the lake.
A favourite beach.
Blossoms lining the roadside.
Laneways and vineyard views you won’t find anywhere else.
That’s really what this weekend is about.
Not trying to fit everything in - but finding your way through it. Supporting local, spending time together, and letting the day unfold as it will.
A stop here. A glass there. Maybe a few places in between.
However you choose to spend it, the Naramata Bench is full of ways to make it meaningful.
