The Naramata Bench is located in the South Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada and stretches 25 km (15.5 mi) along the eastern side of Okanagan Lake, from Penticton to Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park.

IF YOU’RE BRINGING A CAR:

If you have your own vehicle, travelling within the region is a simple as putting wheels to the pavement.  Naramata road is suitable for all vehicle types, from motorcycles to large commercial trucks.  Current conditions can be viewed on DriveBC, which includes highway webcams, construction and incident notices. If you plan on driving to the Naramata Bench, you must pass through the city of Penticton and head North along the East side of Okanagan Lake, along Naramata Road.

From Kelowna: Travel South on HWY97-S, crossing the Lake via the W.R. Bennett bridge towards Penticton.
From Penticton: Travel North-East towards the East side of Okanagan Lake and follow Naramata Road.

IF YOU’RE TRAVELLING BY BUS, BIKE, OR ON FOOT:

You can utilize BC Transit’s scheduled service as a walk on passenger (pedestrian) and bring a bike as well.

BC Transit offers regular bus transit service between the city of Penticton and the village of Naramata, including many stops in between. Be sure to check schedules when planning your trip. Buses are wheelchair accessible and are equipped with bike racks.

If you are arriving by air, you will most likely be flying into the Penticton Regional Airport, conveniently located at the south end of Penticton and only 10 minutes from Downtown Penticton.

Air Canada offers up to four flights a day from the Penticton Regional Airport to Vancouver International Airport provided by Air Canada Express and operated by Jazz Air using their Dash-8 aircraft. WestJet offers a daily direct flight to Calgary from the Penticton Regional Airport using their Bombardier Q400 NextGen Aircraft via their WestJet Encore service.

Several carriers also fly into the Kelowna International Airport, which is approximately 1.5 hours’ drive from the Naramata Bench and features air service between other major destinations.
