After a difficult week as the wildfire continues to burn across Okanagan Lake, the Naramata community is inviting residents, visitors and Summerland evacuees to step away from the uncertainty for an evening of connection, conversation and community spirit.
The 2026 Naramata Village Summer Social takes place Monday, August 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the heart of Naramata Village, offering a relaxed evening filled with local food, wine, live music and family-friendly fun.

Visitors can sip wines from local wineries, sample craft beer, enjoy dinner from food trucks or village restaurants, browse local shops, and discover the welcoming charm that makes Naramata such a special place.
For event organizer Jacquie Carlson with Discover Naramata, creating opportunities for people to gather has never felt more important.
“We feel that human connection is even more important during challenging times. So having a way for locals to get out and be together is a great way to create community spirit.”

Carlson says the event is also an opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the many Summerland residents currently staying in the community after being displaced by the wildfire.
“We also have a lot of Summerland evacuees staying in the community. It’s important for them to have a night out, take their minds off what is happening, have some fun and make connections with other people.”
Throughout the evening, Naramata Village will come alive as businesses stay open late and the streets fill with live music, local artists, artisans and community organizations. Families can enjoy activities for children while exploring everything the village has to offer.

“Many of the Village businesses will be open. We will have some of our Discover Naramata member wineries on site with booths offering tastings and wine sales. Our restaurants in the Village are also doing features.”
Guests can also look forward to delicious local eats.
“There will be 2 food trucks onsite and there will be outdoor seating to sit, relax and enjoy dinner.”
The evening also includes a photo booth, a village scavenger hunt and plenty of activities to keep children entertained, making it an event the whole family can enjoy.

Whether you’re a longtime local, spending the summer in the South Okanagan, or visiting Naramata for the very first time, the Village Summer Social is an opportunity to slow down, support local businesses and reconnect with your community.
Come wander the village, meet your neighbours, support local businesses and celebrate the spirit of summer in Naramata.
